It is an honour to be nominated as the chair of the REC Construction Group.
My main objective will be to change the perception that people have of the recruitment industry especially in the construction sector. Although certain commentators are talking about doom and gloom and the current recession;
I believe the REC Construction Group is strong and buoyant and we must stay focused on raising the standards of the construction sector in terms of Heath and Safety and delivery to enable our sector to grow.
We need more members who have invaluable knowledge and experience in this sector, so join us today!

Sustainable Employment Legacy Forum
The Construction Sector Group has founded a Sustainable Employment Legacy Forum (SELF) to respond to the challenges ahead in ensuring that the Olympics deliver in terms of an employment legacy for the people who live in some of London’s poorest boroughs.

Government must listen to the Migration Advisory Committee to meet skills shortages
The REC welcomes the balanced report from the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) on shortage occupations. However as the economic picture changes rapidly the MAC will need to keep a sharp eye on labour market developments if its advice is going to remain up to date.
