Diploma in Recruitment Practice

The Diploma in Recruitment Practice is a nationally recognised recruitment qualification developed by the REC and is the second in a four-tier qualification framework. Its aim is to give recruiters the detailed knowledge required to provide clients and candidates with a high quality consultancy service and is the ideal next step for recruiters with some previous industry experience or those who have achieved the Certificate in Recruitment Practice.

The Diploma is accredited by Middlesex University Business School and holders can use the qualification to gain advanced entry to the Recruitment Degree programme. 

The current Diploma course will started in September 2008 but it is still possible to enrol for modules 2 and/or 4 for this academic year. The next full Diploma course will commence in September 2009.

Being modular in nature, study options are varied and include a highly popular Distance Learning Course, a series of London-based evening classes and In-Company programmes.

UK Coverage

Programmes leading to the Diploma are run in a number of locations and examinations are offered in eight UK towns and cities, meaning it’s easier than ever to access learning.

Practical Content

The Diploma has been designed to cover four key areas of a recruiter’s role;

Module 1 – The Recruitment Process
Module 2 – Recruitment Law and Ethics
Module 3 – Recruitment Business Project
Module 4 – Interviewing Skills

Students are required to submit coursework for modules 1 and 2 prior to assessment.

Assessment

Assessment is through two two-hour written examinations (modules 1 and 2), a 5,000 word business project (module 3) and a practical interview skills examination (module 4). Results are issued per module at Pass, Merit and Distinction grades.

Please note that as from 1 January 2009 the course costs will be as follows:

Module 2 -
Member Rate:            £338 + 15% VAT (£388.70)
Non-member rate:    £519 + 15% VAT (£596.85)

Module 4 -
Member rate              £470 + 15% VAT (£540.50)
Non-member rate    £603 + 15% VAT (£693.45)
